PRESENTATION:
Dress, posture and demeanour are important parts of vocal performance and will be taken into consideration by the adjudicators.
Senior Vocal, excluding Musical Theatre and Jazz/Blues sections, and all Song with Sacred Content sections will be
held at the Wesley Church
The following pianists are available during the Eisteddfod.

Classical definition is a term that has been applied to a variety of music from different cultures and is taken to mean any that does not belong
to folk or popular traditions. It is also applied to any collection of music regarded as a model or formal discipline.
Live piano accompaniment is the only accepted accompaniment, excluding Section 5.
A copy of music is required for the adjudicator.Appearance, posture and demeanour are an important part of a performance, for a Competitor and their Accompanist and will be taken into
consideration by the adjudicator.
All senior performers in sections 1 to 11 are required to announce their pieces and Composer.1 OPERATIC ARIA

The following conditions apply:
a) This competition is open to amateur competitors (see rule 4.1)
b) Own Choice
c) Time Limit up to 12 minutes in total
d) Competitors must enter and appear in two vocal sections from 2,3,4,5 or 6
e) A minimum of eight competitors must enter for this section to be held
f) Competitors are required to prepare TWO arias of contrasting styles. If more than 12 entries are received it is possible one song will be sung and 8 Finalists will be selected by the Adjudicator to perform the second song. However, if there are 12 entrants or less then TWO Arias are to be sung
by each competitor.
g) The winner of the Aria will not be eligible to appear in this section again the following year.
h) Arias must be sung in original key and language.2 ART SONG
An Art song is defined as a classical song of the English language from
1850 onwards.

Any song from a musical stage production or film sung in the original form.
The singer is required to sing his/her item as a character from the song as it appears in the original show/film/score, not as an upbeat arrangement.The following conditions apply:
a) Use of microphone is optional and will be supplied
b) Licensed backing CDs (with no vocals) or live music is permitted.
c) Costume must be appropriate to character.
d) A minimum of props will be permitted.
e) Vocal ability, originality of style, standard and performance will be taken into consideration.
f) Adjudicator requires copy of music.

d) microphones are compulsory in these sections.
