IT IS IMPORTANT THAT ALL COMPETITORS AND TEACHERS REALISE THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES REGARDING LAWS UNDER THE AUSTRALIAN COPYRIGHT ACT 1968
The following are the conditions that printed material can be used at this Eisteddfod.
ADJUDICATOR'S COPY
Own Choice the competitor must supply the adjudicator with a photocopy provided that the original is used by the competitor for the performance and the Eisteddfod Committee destroys the copy immediately after adjudication COMPETITOR'S COPY
If the competitor is not performing from memory, an original or licensed photocopy must be used in the performance. This original can be borrowed from a library, friend or another competitor
NEW RULINGS ON ACCOMPANIST'S COPY (AMCOS)
(excerpt from the Practical Copyright Guide for the use of Print Music in Australia, clause 9.1)
The following conditions must be met before a photocopy can be made for an accompanist:
- the accompaniment part must be printed on the same page as the solo instrumental or vocal part(s), ie inseparable from the solo part.
- a single photocopy of the accompaniment may be made for use in a performance such as an Eisteddfod.
- the single copy must be marked with the words ACCOMPANIST COPY
- after the performance, the copy of the accompaniment must be handed to the Eisteddfod organization for collection and all these copies sent to
AMCOS at the conclusion of the Eisteddfod.
MAKING USE OF RECORDED MUSIC
It is the responsibility of the individual competitors (or the studio or school etc.
to which they belong) to obtain the appropriate permission or licence for the making of recordings of copyright musical works where these
recordings are used as a backing for their Eisteddfod entry.
Tapes and CDs must display the copyright licence number of the studio.
